Weekend in Koura

We just got back from a 2 day visit to Koura. We spent the time with another missionary family, the Hochstetlers. They are a SIL (Wycliffe) family who are working on translation of a language in their region. They are not far from us,
about 2.5 hrs. Closer by distance, but the road to their place was very bad!!!
We had to leave our car in a village, and get in their 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser, and it had to work the whole way around a mountain, and down again to their village.
Their settings were very rustic, which had a very positive effect on Hilary. She was so pleased to see Kadiolo again after that visit.
The Hochstetlers have 3 kids. Laura, 14, David, 12, and Sarah, 8 years old.
So their kids did really well with ours. All their kids speak Bambara very well, and gave our kids a vision of being able to speak freely with anyone nearby.
We went to church with them Sunday AM, and enjoyed a different church setting than usual, with a different people group, and different kinds of music.
On the way home, we spent a couple of hours at a waterfall. What a beautiful spot!
We swam a bit, and froliced in cold water. The valley where the waterfall is must be 10 degrees cooler. It was nice.
Here are a few pics...

We had to hike in about 30 minutes to get to the valley where the waterfall is. Grass was taller than Caleb...

Here is Hilary in the waterfall. Very refreshing!

Here's Lisa and I in front of the waterfall.

Ben really enjoyed the water
