July 2008

Hi. We've been visiting supporters again, and we went up to the lake. We stayed 2 days with Uncle Frank and Aunt Joyce. We had a wonderful time boating and fishing...
We can't believe how fast the summer has flown with Hilary. She flies back to Africa to return to school at Dakar Academy. She will do so well at school, but we will feel incomplete as a family without her silly grin, and mischievious side...

This pic is Caleb with his cousin Kaitlin... (Spelling?) They had a great time in the sand together...

Well, of all the pictures I took, and all the fish we caught; (We caught maybe 12 fish each, many too small to keep.) I didn't get a pick of any of us with a fish.
How did that happen? :D

Continue to pray for Lisa, she has her MRI August 1st, and this is the most important doctors' appointment since we've been back in America. This is the one where we schedule treatment after he decides the route to go for surgery. Is it a cochlear implant surgery or a ________ removal surgery? I imagine surgery will be scheduled about 6 weeks after August 1st, but I could be surprised.
Lisa has done well, we appreciate your prayers, but this story is not finished yet!

Thanks for stopping by,
Tom & Lisa Seward

Hello Again!

This was a running theme at Cornerstone this year... "Free Hugs"

It has been two weeks since I posted last. Hilary, Ben and I went to Cornerstone. This was my 13th pilgramage to the festival. The schedule this year had less "must sees" than other years, but God had many surprises for me. I was encouraged and surprised and blessed every day. I think 2008 was my favorite year of all of them so far. (You guys only get better.)

If you are a Christian music fan, and want a walk on the wild side, and can support camping... definately give Cornerstone a try... 600 opportunities to see more than 300 groups play!)

On the way back we saw Clayton & Edna Frost... (We saw Carol, too... :D But she escaped the picture...)

\
While we were gone Caleb was able to take part of a vbs. He was so happy. We'd been in at least 4 churches announcing their vbs, and each time he would say "can I go?" and I would have to say, no, we're not going to be here then... He loved it...

I had my birthday this week. I'm an old man- again.. :D 42 this year. We also celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. I can't imagine life with anyone else. Life with Lisa has been so great.

We are still in a waiting mode until Aug 1st. That is when the next appointment will be...

Lisa will have an mri, and after that the doc will discuss with us the next course of action.

We'd like it to be cochlear implant surgery...

Back in Africa, Emily is moving ahead on her plans to make teaching videos for women. She is working with the drama team to film skits that will teach healthy principles. These skits are based on situations she has seen while living in her courtyard situation... Great Job Emily! We look forward to seeing those results!

And our Kadiolo youth are taking part of the CMA Youth Camp in Sikasso this week. This camp is their highlight for the year! Pray for them as they are challenged and encouraged.

Thanks for praying for us... Keep on!
